David's conducting experience spans much of the great choral repertoire, from the Baroque and Classical (with numerous Bach cantatas and Haydn and Mozart Masses, the Magnificats of both JS and CPE Bach, little-known oratorios by Bach's sons, both of Vivaldi's Glorias, Handel's Coronation Anthems and oratorios Messiah, Judas Maccabaeus, and Solomon, and Haydn's Creation), the Romantic (including the Brahms Requiem and Mendelssohn's Elijah and St Paul), through to modern works (including Orff's Carmina Burana, Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem, Britten's Saint Nicolas, Fanshawe's African Sanctus, and Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace). Works he has assisted in preparing as Assistant Chorus Master include JS Bach's Mass in B Minor, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 ("Choral"), Berlioz's Requiem, Durufle's Requiem and Rachmaninov's Vespers.
David directed the World Premieres of Matthew Orlovich's The Blue Gum Forest and Elliot Rentoul's Love, the Southern Hemisphere Premieres of Karl Jenkins' Te Deum and Roman Hurko's Requiem/Panachyda for the victims of Chernobyl, the Australian Premiere of John Tavener's Mother and Child, and the Queensland Premieres of Karl Jenkins' Requiem and Arvo Pärt's Seven Magnificat Antiphons.
In addition to his roles on the podium, David continues to be an active member of Canticum Chamber Choir and Fusion Vocal Ensemble, and a regular guest singer with The Australian Voices and the Brisbane Chorale.
